"My observation based on personal experience of travelling with Gulf Air from Karachi to Riyadh via Bahrain, has been very painful and terrible. I had a confirmed status ticket and boarding card in hand for the first leg of my journey KHI-BAH-RUH but Gulf Air staff sold/assigned my seat of BAH-RUH to someone else and off loaded me with my baggage from the aircraft, on the charge that I was a NO RECORD passenger as they could not find my record. They not only off-loaded me but forced me to purchase another ticket for mid of my journey without completing the first leg of ticket and boarding card. Finally my family members purchased another cash ticket in Dubai for the sector Bahrain to Dammam by paying cash AED 1350 just to get me out of Bahrain, as I was short on funds, thus I flew out after passing 14 hours in transit without lay-over and without food. During my 14 hours transit at Bahrain airport, I witnessed many Pakistani uneducated pilgrims travelling from different origins in Pakistan to Jeddah or Medina via Bahrain, who missed their onward flight from BAH to JED or MED due to late arrival of Gulf Air flight at BAH. Gulf Air staff were forcing them either to stay for long without lay-over and food or pay difference of fare to issue new tickets for their final destination, that is Jeddah or Medinah for Umra purposes. Some people paid but most of them had to stay back for up to 48 hours in transit at Bahrain, caused entirely by Gulf Air itself. After this horrendous experience my appeal to my Pakistani brothers is to avoid travelling through Gulf Air. I write this as an eye opener message in the larger interest of public and Pakistan!"
