Specialization: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority – PTA is an autonomous body formed by the Federal Government in the year 1996 to regulate the establishment, operation and maintenance of telecommunication systems and provision of telecommunication services in Pakistan and to promote and protect the interests of users of telecommunication services in Pakistan. PTA is the licensing authority for the cellular mobile operators, long distance and international LDI, fixed and wireless local loop, class VAS, IoT LPWAN, telecom infrastructure providers and mobile devices manufacturers. PTA is also mandated to auction the radio frequency spectrum. PTA is also responsible to block non-compliant mobile devices through the DRIBS regulatory framework. PTA has also developed a Cyber Security Strategy for the telecom sector. PTA headquarter is located in Islamabad and zonal office in Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Gilgit and Muzaffarabd.
