Specialization: Institute of Architects Pakistan – IAP, is a representative body of professional architects of Pakistan established in the year 1957 with a mandate to organize the profession of architecture in Pakistan and look after professional interests as well as those of the public in general concerned with the building profession. IAP is also responsible to enforce a code of ethics and discipline amongst the practicing architects and to promote the field of architecture in the country through setting up of architectural schools and advising on architectural education and professional practices. IAP also plays a role in establishing contact with other national and international professional bodies of architects and to conduct research and organize seminars, competitions, conferences and exhibitions for promoting the cause of the architectural profession. IAP Academic Awards such as Mehdi Ali Mirza Award, Kausar Bashir Ahmed Award, IAP Design Excellence Award and IAP Graduate Award are conferred upon the top achievers graduating from schools of architecture in Pakistan. IAP head office is located in Karachi with five regional chapters located at Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta, Peshawar and Gujrat.
