Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education - FBISE Islamabad, established under FBISE Act 1975, is an autonomous body working under the umbrella of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.

FBISE Islamabad’s roles and responsibilities include to organize, regulate, develop and control Intermediate and Secondary Education in general and conduct examinations in the institutions affiliated with it. FBISE is also mandated to;

Prescribe courses of instructions for SSC and HSSC
Ensure provision of requisite facilities in the affiliated institutions
Hold exams, appoint examiners and supervisory staff
Institute measures to promote physical wellbeing of students

FBISE head office is situated at H-8, Islamabad with two sub-offices in Gilgit and Skardu. Office timings are from Monday to Friday - 9 am to 5 pm.

FBISE Islamabad places equal emphasis on sports and FBISE athletics, hockey, netball and futsal teams participate regularly in inter-board tournaments for both boys and girls.

FBISE Islamabad in collaboration with its affiliated institutions also offers diploma and certificate programs to enhance the technical skills of student along with their formal education.
